Eileen Whooley has been an animal lover since the day she was born. From walking neighbors’ and relatives’ dogs as a little girl to fearlessly stepping into the gated pasture on her uncle’s farm in Puerto Rico to meet the magnificent, unbroken black stallion named Jet, animals have always trusted her instinctively. While everyone else tried to break Jet’s spirit, Eileen simply connected with him. The wild horse calmed under her touch, let her pet and ride him, and became her first true best friend—leaving her uncle and the farmhands speechless. That same effortless bond has followed her through life, whether it was the tiger that leaped from a van, and she approached to marvel at his magnificence, at San Francisco’s Wharf when she was ten, or the landlord’s cats and horses that showed up at her door as if they knew exactly where they belonged.
Today, nothing in the world matters more to Eileen than her family—her two daughters and four grandchildren, ages one month to seven years—whom she loves more than life itself. Right alongside them is Cooper, the dog she rescued in a moment that changed everything. Labeled “aggressive,” Cooper had been rehomed five times and was hours from a kill shelter in Philadelphia. Eileen couldn’t bear it. She brought him home that very night—terrified, injured from abuse, with no leash training or positive dog experiences. In just seventeen months, patience, consistency, and love turned him into the beloved “mayor of Veterans Park” in Randolph, NJ. Cooper stepped into the void left by his first pup friend, Bailey, who passed away after 18 years of companionship. Guided daily by Bailey’s spirit, Cooper learned to trust and be trusted, becoming his human’s best friend while gaining Bailey’s mom as his self-appointed grandma! Together, Eileen and Cooper saved each other. Cooper now confidently greets new arrivals and gently walks anxious pups around the park as if showing them the ropes. Her seven-year-old grandson proudly calls Cooper “my dog and best friend.”
After more than twenty years in high-pressure corporate roles across finance, HR, operations, and executive support, Eileen left the world of numbers and deadlines to follow what she calls her “semi-retirement” dream: a life where loving what you do means you never work a day in your life. She is now proud to be working with Gina, the owner of The Peaks Pet Nanny. Eileen chose this company because of Gina’s impressive business acumen and looks forward to building strong, lasting relationships with Peaks Pet Nanny clients. She brings the same discipline, organization, and attention to detail from her corporate background to every pet she serves—offering structured daily walks tailored to each dog’s energy and temperament, attentive overnight in-home sitting, safe transportation, personalized enrichment, medication reminders, and detailed daily notes so owners never miss a thing.
For Eileen, pet care is the most meaningful work she has ever done—other than being a mother and grandmother—rooted in a lifetime of instinctive connection, unwavering love, and the deep satisfaction of providing the compassionate, reliable care every pet and family deserves.
