Mike is a lifelong dog lover with more than 10 years of hands-on experience walking and caring for dogs throughout Maplewood and South Orange, New Jersey. After enjoying a long and successful career in journalism and broadcasting, Mike chose to follow his passion for working with animals and now dedicates his time to providing reliable, attentive pet care for local families.
Over the years, Mike has cared for both dogs and cats through house sitting and drop-in visits, gaining experience with a wide range of routines, personalities, and care needs. His calm, patient approach helps pets feel comfortable and safe, whether they’re energetic puppies, senior dogs, or shy cats who just need a little extra understanding.
Mike lives in South Orange and has a deep appreciation for the local community and its pets. Earlier in his career, he worked as a researcher and producer for major national broadcasts and publications, earning three Emmy Awards for his work with respected programs such as 60 Minutes, PBS NewsHour, and CBS News. His background reflects the same qualities he brings to pet care today—attention to detail, reliability, and a genuine commitment to doing things the right way.
One of Mike’s most memorable experiences with dogs came during several months spent traveling cross-country and living outdoors with his own dog. That time gave him a deeper understanding of how dogs communicate, behave, and adapt in different environments.
Today, Mike combines his professional reliability with his lifelong love of animals to provide thoughtful, dependable dog walking and pet sitting for families in South Orange, Maplewood, and nearby communities.
