- Lorraine - Our Nannies - Peaks Pet Nannies
Lorraine has been described to be playful and has a lot of patience. You can usually find her singing or talking to just about everyone & everything - her kids, pets, and the plants included (think Snow White). Lorraine uses positive reinforcement, redirection, and movement. She's usually successful with some behavioral concerns, making bonding quick and easy. Lorraine's caregiving experiences have taught her a thing or two about unconditional love, human/animal interconnections, bonding, and much more. Lorraine suspects this started as a young girl when she was gifted a rescued Chihuahua with the heart of a "Lion" and would often get both in trouble while chasing much larger unleashed dogs. As an adult, Lorraine experienced sweet moments like bottle-feeding a tiny kitten. However, he ended up becoming a massive 25lb, 3ft long Maine Coon who would eye her community freshwater fish tank for entertainment! He transitioned with Lorraine and her Mom's cat Oreo from NY to NJ & was Lorraine's faithful companion for 17 years. Since then, Lorraine has had experiences with other exotic cat breeds, such as a Bengal (difficult to litter train) and a high-energy Siamese (mix), which has had Lorraine study pet behaviors. Lorraine's next pet family member was a 'pica' pup, which taught her the importance of keeping pureed pumpkin handy.
Lorraine lives in Wood-Ridge with her three sons and two fur kids, Phoebe, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel & resident kitty Tessa. Lorraine remains very active & does her best to leave everyone & everything better than originally found, when possible. Overall, Lorraine has been keeping a mixed, loving household. Despite all the whimsy, you will find a solid, reliable, and trustworthy individual. With a Healthcare Management degree. Lorraine has a solid Business, Healthcare, Educational & and HR database management foundation. Lorraine also helps families who have family members with disabilities learn life skills (Behavioral Tech/DSP). She also volunteers time to mentor online and writes articles, at times, on various topics ranging from childcare, pet care, fitness, nutrition, and health. Lorraine enjoys applying her experiences, creativity, and knowledge and, most of all, helping those in need, especially those with pet families. All of her fur family have been rescued in some way. However, Lorraine's outlook is: "It is they who rescue us! They teach us how to connect, empathize, relax, enjoy the moment, and most of all, each other." To Lorraine, it's such a refreshing experience to see the sweet face of any pet, who is excited to see you come home in whatever way they express themselves; even a goldfish showing excitement and enjoying his/her dinner after one sprinkles his/her food over the water. So, assuring the safety and well-being of each and every one of your household members is her first priority. Lorraine is not only pleased to help but also thankful!
